Located at 167 Bird Road, Pirongia, just a short drive from Hamilton, Cambridge and close to Pirongia Village where there are several cafe's for a nice lunch. Highgate Bed and Breakfast is close to a number of activities and attractions including Mystery Creek which is less than 20mins away.

Cycling and Mountain Biking

Highgate B&B is quite handy to most of the cycling events held in this district. We have a garage in which to safely store the bikes and plenty of hills for training!
Nestled in the foothills of Mt Pirongia, the Sainsbury Road Forest Trails are part of the Waipa Mountain Bike Club’s network of mountain biking trails. Around 8 kilometres of off-road trails wind through the Sainsbury road forest west of the township of Pirongia.

There are a further 10 golf courses within 40min drive from Highgate Bed and Breakfast Pirongia.

Lake Karapiro Rowing

Highgate is a 30min drive from Cambridge, or 33min direct to Lake Karapiro.
Karapiro Rowing Inc. operate the rowing course at Lake Karapiro in New Zealand. We host about 8 rowing regattas each year as well as provide course facilities for Rowing New Zealand.
